If you’ve been looking for good dive camera that is a bit more affordable then you’ll want to take a look at the Fujifilm FinePix XP10.  Remember that while you may sacrifice some features as you go down in price you can still pick up a good underwater camera under $150.  This is a really good camera for the novice photographer who still enjoys the adventures of underwater photography.  It’s a compact camera and waterproof up to 10 feet.

It’s the perfect point and shoot camera if you plan on using it in light water.  Don’t expect the same picture quality as the more expensive underwater cameras.  One downfall of the FujiFilm FinePix is that it comes with a non-standard USB cable so if you lose it you will not be able to use a standard USB cable that you have lying around.  Buy this camera only if your working with a budget and you don’t plan on doing deep diving where picture are going to be taken in very low light.

This is a waterproof camera that was built to go with you wherever you choose to go.  Just because the Powershot D10 is Canon’s first entry into the underwater camera market doesn’t mean this little gem is not a solid one.  Whether you plan to use the camera for surfing, snorkeling or scuba diving this camera is durable enough to handle it all.  The Powershot D10 camera is waterproof down to 33 feet and you can use it for snowboarding as well.  Although the camera is criticized for its bulkiness it does take extremely high quality photos.

If you’re into creating larger photos the 12.1 megapixels will come in handy.  It’s one of the most highly review cameras with a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.  The camera focuses fast and takes high quality pictures whether you are swimming or white water rafting.  It’s good for underwater photos but can also be used a general-purpose camera.  The front plate is also interchangeable.  If you’re really stuck on design rather than the quality of photos then you feel more comfortable when using this camera in water than on land.

As the name suggest the camera is very rugged but stylish.  It’s also shockproof, waterproof and crushproof.  Get ready to shot videos in 720p HD quality.  The face detection function allows the photographer to capture up to twelve subjects at once.

This camera was designed to be almost indestructible whether you are mountain climbing or skiing.  Even if you have gloved hands the one touch buttons still make it easy to snap your pictures.  It’s a bit slower than some of the other underwater cameras on the market but the amazing picture and video quality more than make up for it.  Feel free to shoot several hundred photos because you have up to 2 GB of internal memory for storage.  If you’re a complete newbie just take advantage of the camera’s fully automatic mode.
